Indian Institute of Information Technology IIIT – Surat is an Institute of National Importance that offers UG programs in the following two disciplines:

Qualification (for all faculty levels)
Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent (grades etc.) at the previous degrees (B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech/M.S.) in the appropriate branch, with an excellent academic record in all preceding degrees.

II. Designation and Pay level: Assistant Professor Grade-II (On Contract) 7th CPC Pay level 11: ₹68900 - ₹117200/-

Other essential requirements: One paper accepted for publication in SCI Journal
Additional Desirable requirements: Two papers in SCI Journals other than those from Ph.D. work or One patent based on the Ph.D. work are required.
III. Designation and Pay level: Assistant Professor Grade-I 7th CPC Pay level 12: ₹101500 - ₹167400/-
Relevant experience: Three years post Ph.D. or six years total (besides Ph.D. enrollment period) after obtaining M.Tech.
Other essential requirements: a). Two papers in SCI journals other than the Ph.D. work.
b). For candidates from academia: One ongoing sponsored project. c). Two experiments or computational projects included in teaching laboratories (if appropriate).
Additional Desirable requirements: a). One Ph.D. supervision is ongoing; b). One patent; c). experience in industry or R and D laboratory of repute; d). M.Tech., or B.Tech. Project supervision on live industrial problems.
IV. Designation and Pay level: Associate Professor 7th CPC Pay level 13A2: ₹139600 - ₹211300/-
Relevant experience: a). Six years after the Ph.D. or Nine years total (not considering the Ph.D. enrolment period), out of which three years must be after the Ph.D. degree; b). Three (03) years at the level of Assistant professor with a pay level 12 or equivalent in any reputed institute, university, R&D lab, or industry.
Other essential requirements: a). Four papers in SCI journals after the Ph.D. degree; b). one Ph.D. guided as principal supervisor, and one in continuation; c). Two projects: one ongoing, along with one completed; d). Two experiments or computational projects were added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
Additional Desirable requirements: a). One or more patents; b). Supervising two or more students for a Ph.D. degree; c). Strong association with industry; d). Offering courses through the application of ICT.
